In 1943 Mrs Horobin worked at Players on Alfreton Road. During Air Raids used to see the planes overhead.When Air Raid siren went the "Post Horn Gallop" was played in the factory. The workers had to go through exit downstairs to the underground passage to rest rooms, toilets and first aid. The workers could have been trapped for weeks and been OK.
Tunnels went from Alfreton Road, Beckingham Road to No2 factory on Boulevard.
She could remember bakery at the junction of Sneinton Road and Carlton Road being bombed May8/9th 1941.
