Message 1 - 40 Squadron

Posted on: 22 August 2004 by Rob Jerram

Hi Ken,
Would be very interested to get more details of your time in M.E. My father was in 37 Sqd, left UK on Ferry Flight but bailed out over Chad. Finally got to M.E. end of Nov 1942. He was W/Op Stuart Jerram RNZAF 403453 completed 1st Tour Aug 1943. I have his log book and diaries and you may remember some of the men he knew as he had friends in 40, 70 and 104 Sqds as well. I would be keen to hear of your time in M.E. in more detail as info on these Sqds and info sources on 205 Grp for this time are limited to say the least. I am in contact with another NZ pilot that flew with Dad and he has been very helpful. His name was F/Sgt Gustofsen and finished his tour prior to Dad.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Rob Jerram
