RAF Buc - dad - Sid Bioletti, in cock-pit of plane. 14 September 1947 - photgraph sent to my mum: "Yours truly getting some flying hours in. Who's kidding who? 'Why when I was aircrew ...' Some lineshooter eh?"
My dad recalled the time he enjoyed at RAF Buc Paris, France. During those 3.5 months, he had periods of leave - a total of 20 days - to return to my mum and sister, back in London. And usually when leave was granted, he was very pleased to catch a lift in a slightly larger version of an Anson Aircraft to RAF Hendon. Unfortunately this was only a one-way ticket and he and colleagues would then have to return to Paris on the ferry and train like civilians.
