Called up and had my primary training and square-bashing in Gloucestershire. From there to Farnborough on Course 6 on photography and developing.
They asked for volunteers to go to Belgium. Stationed together with approximately 200 WAAFs and 200 men. The men collected photo-cans from reconnaissance planes and returned them to us for processing. We produced maps and photos from them. This was Top-Secret.
A lot of our work was done for General Montgomery to help him plan future operations.
We were so lucky to be billeted in a modern building left by the Germans; very comfortable with central heating. Luxury!
After about 1 year I was taken ill and invalided out of the forces; and so my return to civvy street.
