Hello

Set in scenic Shropshire, the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford has one of the largest aviation collections in the UK, with over 60 historic aircraft on display.

The War Plane Collection includes British, German, American, Japanese and Argentinian aircraft, all with an important place in the development of military aviation. The Access & Learning department also provides a variety of workshops that help tell the story of WWII to school children, including an evacuee experience.

Volunteer members of the Museum have created this section of the People鈥檚 War website, some of whom are war veterans themselves. You can read some of their own stories below. During June and July 2004, the Museum hosted the first People's War Roadshow in the West Midlands region. Many visitors stopped at the People's War stand to tell their own stories to our volunteers. They can also be found on this site.

All of the following stories were submitted to the People's War site at the Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford, and have been added to the site with the contributors' permission. The authors fully understand the site's terms and conditions.
