Poem written by William Cecil Carswell. MM
In a field all full of shell holes
By a broken shattered town
Were the boys who manned the Field guns
Till the evening sun went down
They were men who fought for freedom
Fought for things they knew were right
And they鈥檒l never be forgotten
Friends will carry on the fight
Many men we鈥檝e left behind us
Buried 鈥榥eath those hills of snow
Many things left to remind us
Of those days not long ago
