We work to promote the well-being of all older people in the county, by providing services and campaigning on issues that affect the quality of later life. We are working with the 大象传媒 on the People鈥檚 War.

Here at Age Concern Shropshire Telford & Wrekin we are working with the Library Service to encourage local people to add their memories of WW2, or those of their relatives, to the People鈥檚 War website. Most libraries have public access to the Internet and staff who can give you a hand if needed. If you wish to add a story but do not have access to a computer (or do not have the confidence to use one), then we have volunteers who can take your story in written form, or record it when talking to you, and add it to the site for you. We can do this for people who live in the county of Shropshire (including Telford & Wrekin). As part of this work we are planning to hold WW2 reminiscence sessions in our day centres so that their members can recollect their war stories and ensure that they are not lost by adding them to the website.

We are based at 3 Mardol Gardens, Shrewsbury, SY1 1PR, and also have offices in Ludlow, Telford and Whitchurch. To arrange for one of our volunteers to visit you, please contact Keith Gallop on 01743 233123 or email Keith at acinfo@btconnect.com
