I was at home doing domestic duties and on the radio i heard 'War is finished because Hitler is dead'. Then everybody just started dancing and chanting 'war is finished' and musicians played. We had been happy during the war because we grew our own food and weren't in the tick of things, but we were very happy to know al the killing would be finished.
