By Mary Slack:
One Sunday afternoon during the war, my brother and I were playing camping in the bedroom upstairs in our house in Tring. We suspended a blanket to make a hammock between two beds. It was my turn to lie on the blanket, but following a loud bang I fell to the floor. I thought my brother had let go of the end of the blanket so I thumped him. Then my parents came rushing upstairs to see if we were alright, as a landmine had exploded nearby.

Hello,
Can you be a bit more specific as to whereabouts in Tring the bomb fell?
I live in Tring now and would be very interested to know a bit more about its history.
I am not personally old enough to remember the war.

Thanks
