My mother in law did not talk very much about her experiences in the war, and sadly she is now dead. however I do know that she worked in the Land Army. She said that the work was hard, being up early every day and out in the fields doing what had, before the war, been thought of as "mens work". One of her fondest memory of that time was working with horses.
