My Childhood Vivid Memory
Maurice Jones
Lozells Birmingham.

My clearest memory is being grabbed by my father and carried to our Air Raid Shelter as bombs dropped towards us just making it as the house was destroyed. We were so lucky to survive the war. So many people lost their homes or their lives.

The feeling of Comradeship was very much the thing in wartime, helping one another ,if only we had that feeling now. I am convinced it played a big part in winning the war.

We are living our tomorrows because so many gave their today. M.J.
