I think I must have been about two or three. The perspective of my memory is from my mothers arms. During one of the many bomming raids over salford, part of Hope Hospital was hit. My parents house was near to the hospital. My father we a member of the A.R.P. his post was near to the hospital, my mother became worried and reshed to the site. My memory is of fire. smoke, shouting, men digging with their hands, throwing bricks to clear the rubble.
