I have really enjoyed the past few months reading various stories from all kinds of people in various situations, some amusing, some tragic, many jogging the memory of simular situations experienced over the war years.
I have submitted a number of stories my self, and have appreciated the advice and criticisms from people like Ron Goldstein & Tom Canning, and found their contributions interesting and informative.
Because of the cross references the site makes to the stories, listing them under different headings,I made contact with Daniel Dobbs, who on reading one of my articles, informed me although we had never met, we were in the same training regiment at the same time, have since exchanged lots of info and pictures which I found very interesting.
I received mail from the Sites Managers that
they are ceasing to accept any more entries after December 2005, which I first found a little dissapointing, but then the stories will remain on for all to read.
There is much more to this site than is first apparent, I found if you input a name in the search panel, be it a place or a regiment, it often opens up a lot of strings of various stories, which on occasion do have a connection with your entry, this may be obvious to most people, but I'm willing to bet not to everyone.
I expect when the door is closed on further entries, many of us will suddenly remember events & situations we wish we had submitted
Memory is so strange, you recall what took place many years ago so vividly, yet what happened a week or so has completely gone from your mind, as as many War memories.
Thankyou 大象传媒 for such an interesting and entertaining site, to all of you employed in the running and presentation of this
"WW2 PEOPLES WAR",you have done a greatjob!
Thank's a lot,
Sincerely Yours,
Ted Dann.
