It was the early days of the war, myself and a couple of young lads were about the street the Warning Sirens had sounded and we witnessed hearing our very first Bombs, they were dropped in a group which were classed as a 'Stick' there were four or five this time and they sounded off a terrible screaming noise, designed in their fin construction to frighten all who could hear them. We huddled together really scared, one lad, I think it was George Jones shouted "Don't worry!"if you hear the scream of the Bomb it's past you.......long after I kept thinking what about those you can't hear!,thus our introduction
to the Blitz began, we were to hear many more Bombs Screaming and otherwise before the War ended.
