This story was submitted to the People鈥檚 War site by Charlotte Gill of the Dingemans Centre for Older People on the behalf of Sylvia and has been added to the site with her permission.

Sylvia and some friends went on a camping trip to Wales. On the way from London they get caught in a bombing raid at Crewe station. On arrival they camped and spent their time hiking. Everywhere there were notices in welsh. One day while in a pub they asked what all the notices meant and were told 'LIVE AMMUNITION USED HERE DAILY'
