This story was submitted to the people's war website by staff at St.Barnabas Library, Leicester, on behalf of Mr. Keith Reynolds.It has been added to the site with his permission. The author fully understands the sites terms and conditions.

Keith's father George Reynolds voluntered for the RAF in 1938,(Keith was 5 years old) in Hook, Surrey. His father trained with the Barrage Balloons and was based in London. During his stint in London he was based in Hyde Park, Kensington gardens and Ladbrook Grove. The wires on the balloons were there to prevent the Germans from dive bombing Buckingham Palace.
