My lasting Memory of World War II is…2 of my brothers called up on the same day. My mother had a potato pie for dinner but nobody could eat any. A telegram arriving - another brother wounded. Boys coming home on leave all together going in a little pub around the corner called the Hanging Gate for a sing along and knees up.
