This story was added to the People's War website by Age Concern Salford on behalf of the contributor with their permission. My lasting memory of the war is my brother dancing around at the bottom of the bed making as much noise as possible, so myself and my brother would not hear the bombers going over. One dropped in Romsbotham and Bury. I also remember going into the air raid shelter.
