My earliest memory of the War was the Monday night, the first night of the 1941 Blitz of Belfast. I was very young. We went up to the Glen Road in the west of the city, which we called the country then. We thought that it was safe to be up there. Myself, my father and mother and my three sisters stayed in a tent. In the morning we returned to our home.
