Pat Doyle was 18 years old and lived in Liverpool, by the racecourse in Fazakerley on the edge of Liverpool. Pats grandmother came to live them as she lived too near the centre of Liverpool. But Liverpools 8 day blitz came near to Pats house. Gran refused to budge from her armchair as the planes flew overhead. Pat and her dog spent time under the kitchen table, but gran sat in her chair. By the time the air raid shelter was built, the blitz was over!
Pats job was at an office at the entrance to the Mersey Tunnel. She had to go on a training course- a course to teach her to shoot a gun - in case of invasion. Unfortunatly the Instructor got in the way and pat SHOT him through the coat tails!
