This story was submitted to the Peoples war website by Ruth Preocanin on behalf of Joan Nuttall, and as been added to this site with her permission. The author fully understands all sites, terms and conditions.

Just an odd thing that happened to three brothers in the war. Alfred served in the Navy, his two younger brothers Jack (RAF) and Leonard (Army) were all separated during the war, serving in different areas of the world.

Who would believe that one day in Mombassa, in 1942/43, they all met completely by chance. What are the odds of that happening?

Alfred Nuttall later became my husband. All three brothers survived the war.
