I was captured by the Japanese and spent three years in a P.O.W camp.
Life was hard at the camp.Sometimes we slept on the grass.Some men were killed for no reason, we were beaten with sticks and made to dig trenches. We were kept hungry.I remember we were given rice with glass in it.
I escaped with other men and we lived on water and coconut.We were transported to Australia by aeroplane and I stayed in a hospital until I was physically and mentally better.
