Sadie Black was my mother who died about 13 years ago. She worked in munitions at Risley on the suicide squad. In 1941 she was in an explosion there when 450 detonators blew up and left her with fingers missing, a badly damaged leg and totally blind. She became a St Dunstaner and went on to lead a near normal life. I am currently doing some research,and would be gratefully for any info on Risley, the incident, or anyone who knew her.
