My mother worked in munitions at Risley and was on the suicide squad working with detonators at the age of 21. Her name was Sadie Black and she was in an explosion there in 1941 when 450 detonators blew up. She lost fingers, and was totally blinded and I wonder if anyone remembers her or the accident, as I am currently researching the incident. Any information would be gratefully received.
