Message 1 - A crashed plane

Nich

This is a Hawker Hurricane Mk I, the fabric covered wings were replaced by metal-stressed ones on later models.

This is not a nose-dive crash, where the plane would have exploded on impact and deeply buried itself due to its kinetic energy. There is minor damage to the tail-rudder, so this could be a crash-landing following combat.

A Hurricane Mk I of 56 Squadron, L1592, (not necessarily this one) is now restored and on display at the London Science Museum.
