I was brought up at Church Farm Buildwas, near Ironbridge.

After a bombing raid on Liverpool enemy aircraft on the way back to Germany, dropped an incendiary bomb in our farmyard.

I remember my Grandfather, George Passey silhouetted clad in his nightshirt by the flames throwing buckets of water to try and douse the bomb. I was about five or six at this time. My grandstand view of all his efforts was from off our staircase. What a sight.JF
