I went to delancy Catholic School Star of the sea I had to go two or three times to school so we could get away to England where we arrived at Weymouth from there to Eccles in Manchester to a big hall then I cant realy rember if it was a week or a fortnight my Mother who got away came to tak me to my Auntys & Uncles & Grand who lives in Hindly nr Wigan where my dad comes from. before the war he was in Manchest regerment this there we lived for five years I went to St Benedick school till I left school then worked in a cotton mill call Lostart
My father had a terralb job he was a bus Driver so he had to pick the school children up from school to get them to the boat to get away then he had to help to have all old people away on the boat then all expecting Mothers & Children und age away on the boat by that time it was too late for himself to get away so he had to stop here being English he should had be sent to Germany but was lucky to have some sort of driving job so was able to stay
