Heritage Services holds an archive of material relating to the German Occupation of the Island of Guernsey during the Second World War. The archive includes recent video and audio interviews that were conducted with those people who remained on the Island during the Occupation as well as those who were evacuated from the Island shortly before the Germans arrived. In addition, information and documentation is held that relates to those individuals who were deported from the Island to Prison Camps and the hardships they had to endure. The German Occupation Archive also includes a considerable amount of Island wartime documentation, photographs, 2-D and 3-D objects which have survived from the 1940-45 period.
