This story relates to an event which took place towards the end of 1944.
A family (One Girl and her two Brothers) were introduced to my Classmates and me as Evacuees from London and we were asked to look after them.
In conversations with them, we soon realised that they were very unhappy with their situation and that Bombs or not , they were going back home.
The next day we found that these three children were not in attendance at School and everyone was wondering where they had got to.
We were eventually informed that the children had been discovered by The Railway Police, walking along the railway line out of Blackpool, with the intention of following the tracks back to London.
