During the war we were those who brought the Cinema Entertainment to the people in Putney.
We came from the Cinemas in the area, from the Projection rooms and the Auditoriums of the Hippodrome the Palace and the Regal cinemas, we were all close to each other and often met up, usually in the Black & White Milk Bar,
The worst night of our lives was when the Dance hall adjacent to the Milk Bar was bombed, many of us lost dear friends in this incident, Fred Potter the chief operator at the Palace was very brave that night, pulling out many people from the dance hall, I understand he was awarded the George Medal for his bravery in this.
We were all at a very low ebb that night, a night many of us will never forget.
Sadly we all drifted away over the years if any of you are still around would love to hear from you again, Ted Dann. Projectionist Hippodrome Putney.
