Mrs de Mouilpied has contributed other stories. These are ones she did not give further details for
Memories of War
Went to the Soup Kitchen at Blanche Charriere twice a week, watery soup, but we ate it.
Mum almost threw a bucket of dirty water over a German who was passing the door.
Germans marching along the roads, singing I Yoh I Yoh
Making salt left to dry out of sea water
Rationed bread, killing cats as everyone was getting hungry.
Paradis the slave prisoner鈥檚 camp.
Lancresse Lodge hotel was the place where the Tommies stayed.
Flags all over houses, wonderful sight
Lots of other happenings, but cant write all of them.
My friends & I knitted Red, White, & blue strips & we would ride on our bikes with them, course all this happened when the war was over, Germans still about.
Riding around Bordeaux one evening (summer) when on the road I saw a parcel in the middle of the road, I stopped to pick it up & the parcel was being pulled towards the wall, it was the Germans teasing anyone who was passing. They gave me some sweets as I reached the wall where they were, they were laughing.
