Our house was badly damaged in an air-raid. My father was a warden and he was helping to dig out the family where the bomb had dropped. A warden brought my mother's elderly aunt to our house and asked my mother if she could keep the aunt with us as she was "being a nuisance". My mother made a cup of tea and put some whisky in it. Next day my aunt came to the house with her tea coupons and asked my mother to get her tea from the same place we got ours!
