Claude (my maternal grandfather) was in Scotland on some form of trianing when my mother was born in August.

He was given special leave to visit his wife and new baby, and came home by train. It was on this journey he decided my Mum's name - Heather - as he passed through great expanses of countryside where the heather was in full bloom.
