My name is Bobby, Bobby Bear. I used to live in Freehold Street,Coventry, at the bottom end with my young owner. In 1939 Britain was at war and in November 1940 Coventry was blitzed. The people in the house where I lived ran out to go to the air raid shelters. My young owner dashed back in the house for me. The house was hit by a ‘bomb’.
My young owner was killed and I was left injured.
As Christmas was approaching and toys were scarce I was given to a new owner, Carol, who cared for me with love and talked to me a lot, I was her very special friend. As you can see I still carry the scars of the blitz but have had a good life and still live with Carol, who is now an O.A.P as I am.
I am privileged to have a special chair in Carol's bedroom at my present address.
Anyone with information on my original owners family in Freehold Street please respond.
