During the war my parents were living with great-uncle Barnes Wallis at Effingham. One morning the radio announced the breach of dams in Germany (of which my parents knew nothing). "Oh! That's Barnes's bombs" exclaimed great aunt Molly. A few weeks later I was born. My mother claims this was the result of eating lobster the night before brought back by Uncle Barnes from Reculver where the RAF testing grounds were.
