To the British People:
We are at the end of telling our stories after our liberation.
WW2 will close : it is the end to a very important chapter in our lives. What rest us to do????
We want to thank the people of Britain for their hospitality, for their help, for their friendship . Words are easy but how can we prove what we say?
We really cannot!
How can one describe friendship, hospitality all the support given to us? only when one has experienced those gifts can it be understood.
The British people suffered untold hardships lost many of their men, and only one who has known the loss of a loved one will know what it means.
But every year we in Hollend remember the freedom given back to us through many of the sacrifices suffered by the British BUT WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!
POPPY DAY is not an empty word, it does have meaning for us We go and visit the graves of the fallen and... WE REMEMBER!!
So, I am sure I speak for all of the liberated women who were treated to your hospitality, your friendship ,your help:
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!
