I doubt there will be people remembering the initial story I wrote.Furthermore my later stories in different parts of my Odyssee involve only a 15 or so persons:We were the first women liberated in Holland by a Welsh regiment and flown to London;we were transported to Wolverhampton ,put in a British uniform as required by Mac Arthur and later by troopship via the Panama canal to Australia to be readied for taking care of people liberated from concentration camps in the Dutch Indies. Not many R.N.'s were in this group.I am glad for my experience in nursing ,in a hospital that was completely stolen empty by the"natives"and a hospital without basic things, needed to take care of these victims. The main reason for participating in the writing of my memories is to leave my grandkids snapshots of what really happened after my liberation.I did not return to Holland till a year of 10 had passed .I got married to a guy who was in the underground in Holland(He ferried many allied over the river Rhine after the failure of Operation Marketgarden.)I took care of many allied prisoners of war as another nurse and I were the only ones who could talk English. But I never met him till we both were in Batavia-now Djakarta-)Fate???
More to come.
