In 1942 I was a member of 907 Squadron, ATC, in Clowne, Derbyshire.
I joined the RAF in 1943 and did my training at Madley in Herefordshire. I trained as a wireless operator and was assigned to 206 Squadron in the Middle East as a Sergeant Wireless Operator, and also did a gunnery course.
I then served as a wireless operator, (ground based), in Iraq, then to Bahrain in the Gulf for six months, from there, on to North Africa at Castel Benito, where I was demobbed in 1947.
