This story has been transcribed and published by Mark Jeffers, with permission from the author.

I had a brother in the Navy. He was born with a luck cap on his head. He joined the army when he was too young, 16 years old and when they found out they sent him home. He was sent out on a cruiser ship and his captain heard that he had been born with a luck cap. That means that you cant drown. The captain was being transferred and asked my brother to go with him. My brother said no and went to be on the submarines. His captain鈥檚 ship went down.
