The show goes on
It must have been around 1944, when the V2 were going off. I was watching a variety show. There was a huge explosion by a V2 which was pretty powerful. A young lady, oriental looking, maybe Korean girl was doing an Act. There was a famous film star at the time called Anna Mai Wong, and I remember the girl had a similar name Anna Mai something.
As the explosion happened, rumble and dust came from the ceiling. The girl was shaking on the stage.
The Compere was also a comedian. He was introducing all the acts. He bounced onto the stage and he said 鈥渨ell folks, if the show doesn鈥檛 go off with a bang it never will鈥 and with that the stage hands and artists cleared the rubble and they carried on with the show.
