My sister was born two days after VE day on 11th May 1945 when I was just three years old.
I can remember the Victory celebrations quite well but most of all I remember the street parties and the flags flying from everywhere, all the grown ups were excited and pleased that the war was over. now two strangers had joined our family, one being my new baby sister named Vicotira Eileen (VE) and one was my father, I hardly knew him which was probably quite common amongst children of my age, to him I was a grown up little girl who probably wondered why he was there and he soon devleoped a special relationship with the new baby. However, eventually we bonded and became very speical to each other. As did my realtionship with my new baby sister.
