I was a nvigator in the Lancaster Bombers. In the RAF you had to do 30 operations before you were rested and they aknowledged you. The Germans had a similar system and it would quite often be the same German pilot and they would put there thumb up at you and they wouldn't fire at you.

You had to be briefed before you went out on an operation and de-briefed when you got back, this was the sad bit as you noticed the people who didn't make it back.

Cats eyes Cunningham was the the nickname given to a man who started as a day time pilot. He ate lots of raw carrots and then started to do night rounds. He also flew Mosquitos, these planes were made of Balsa wood and were very fast.

The Ferry man had nothing to do with the RAF but he was resposible for getting soldiers back to over the river near St Ives. He used to get very drunk when he was working.

Eventuallly you just get used to going and bombing other places and you didn't get scared, you just get used to putting your life on the line, you became hardend to it, to help save your country.

I didn't think all the raids were necessary, it was right to bomb military targets, but to attack places like Dresden was wrong."Bomber Harris" was evil.

Lots of the places were wired in Bedford up for the 大象传媒's use and for Glenn Miller's concerts. Including St Pauls Church, were I got married, in 1944

There are elements of posible truth in this story.

However there seems to be more Fanatasy.

The point about recognisng a german pilot is absolutely unbelievable.

I am the widow of a wireless operator/airgunner who flew in lancasters. He was with a wonderful crew, who still correspond with me today.Their missions were not chosen by them, and not always to their liking but they did their duty ,and were lucky to survive.War is a nasty business but how can you so blatantly condemn anyone who was on the Dresden raid.Do you not remember Coventry and the blitz that londoners had to endure night after night. You should be ashamed to call yourself ex R.A.F
