As a 16 year old I did my "bit" for the war effort. Saturdays myself and several friends served snacks and tea to troops on short leave in Oxford Town Centre. Many of them had been injured both mentally and physically. It was a chance for them to have a few comforts in a friendly enviroment. British, American and Canadian all took advantage of these facilities.
