Armel Clayton Warren taken towards the end of the war.
My father was a clerk in the Royal Engineers and served in Africa and Italy.
I do not know what regiment he ws in, but he supplied administrative support to many of the British Generals, such as Major-General Roberts and Montgomery.
Father never spokse about the war and as far as I know only three photographs exist of him in the army. One of which shows him on leave in Rome during July 1945.
The only occasion he did speak of his experiences was when he was asked to type "Dear John" letters to loved ones back in Britain. He remembered the hand written letters were from Montgomery with I.D. tags tied to each "scribbled letter"
Picture of my father towards the end of the war included.
