[tell us about the VE day parties]
All of us together in the street, tables lined up from the top of the street to the bottom,
They were trying to get everything for the children to eat — crisps, minerals.
Then they were coming out and putting 2 fingers up for Churchill — Victory!
I thought my father was coming home, but he had to go back.
