This is the story about a boy born in the same year that Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany on the 30th of January of that year. My name is Peter Scott and not many weeks after I’d blown theA candles out on my sixth birthday cake, it was announced over the wireless that Britain was now at war with Germany.
I came into the world on 28th July 1933 seven years after Mum and Dad’s marriage in 1927. In 1934 they purchased a new house on Gerrard Avenue Timperley, 12 miles south of Manchester.
I have published 9 short excerpts from this book as shown below. You may wish to read them one after another to appreciate my wartime upbringing in its full glory.
