I made a lot of friends, and enjoyed my time at the Munitions factory in Kidderminster. Only once did we have to go down to the air raid shelter: it was in the adjoining part of the factory. They weren’t aiming for us either - we only had to go down there because he was getting rid of what he hadn’t used to bomb Birmingham.
The nearest to Kidderminster that the bombs got dropped was at a big pool, and he was getting rid of his load — (same as that which dropped at the factory). They’re still in the bottom of the pool too!
I never saw any bombs, but there was a lot of damage. I always say that when they knocked the Bull Ring down a few years back, to make way for the new Bull Ring development that they made more damage than what ever the bombs did.
