Wednesday 11th May 2005
On the 11th May 2005, RAF pilot Victor Mussen sat behind the controls of a Spitfire for the first time in sixty years. The plane was brought to Northern Ireland to commemorate V.E. Day at the local Newtownards Air show.
Although an earlier model than the ones he flew, as soon as the plane began taxiing to the runway Victor remembered his flight procedures as if it was yesterday. At 2000Ft over Belfast, Victor took the reigns and piloted the Spitfire for a short period, stepping back in time to when he was twenty two years of age and training in Oklahoma, America.
The local council and the airfield worked with the 大象传媒 to cover the events of the day and create a permanent record of such a memorable event.
