Ishfaq Ali d.o.b 10.05.1920
My father Ishaq, joined the army in 1937 and was involved in World War II from 1939.
He was in the Enginering Corps division in which his rank was that of a Lance Nike.
His job was to train soldiers in his division so that they could go on the 'Front Line'.
Part of his service was spent working in the navy, he saw people jumping off ships, as the ships were burning.
He always said that the British Officers,in charge of his regiment were very fair.
My father was awarded six medals.
During World War II he went to many places amongst which were Burma,Singapore and Mandalay.
