Were there any war posters where you lived?
Yes when we went into the town centre with our parents there were big sign boards hanging along the road side on those were huge pictures showing the Prime Minister Winston Churchill showing a V sign and a bog cigar in his other hand.

Mr Shukla can also remember when the end of war was announced. The cinemas opened their doors and we all went to watch a film free of charge.
